Meursac is in the Charente Maritime close
to Royan, it is located about halfway's between La
Rochelle which lies to the north and Bordeaux to the
south. The nearby towns of Saintes, Rochefort and of
course l’Ile d’Oléron make this
the ideal location to enjoy the lovely beaches of the
Atlantic.

The village is small but very quaint, the
development is to be built in the grounds of the old Manor
House, which is to be fully renovated to create a unique
clubhouse for Les Senioriales, it promises to be our flagship
residence and a cornerstone of the village. All of the
surrounding villages come together throughout the year
to organise various events, with each village taking turn
to host an event. In Meursac itself there is a lovely little
restaurant and some small shops.
This part of France is steeped in history
from the Romans right up until World War II, one can easily
notice the impact civilisations and conflicts have made
on this very sought-after region of France. The local seafood
specialities, especially oysters and mussels, are renowned
almost as much as the local wines and Cognacs. Royan was
rebuilt after the II World War and is home to some interesting
architecture, it has everything a big seaside town and
port might offer including a ferry across the Gironde to
the Medoc. La Rochelle is the nearest airport with 3 flights
a day to the UK.
